Blaze’s Story

I’m Barbara Lazarony; however, everyone calls me Blaze.

From farm fields in rural Ohio to Fortune 500 boardrooms, I’ve built a dynamic career driven by resilience, intuition, and a passion for transformation. Over two decades, I scaled the corporate ladder to lead executive teams and manage $2.5 billion in sales across 42 locations. But in 2003, a thyroid cancer diagnosis completely shifted my path; that was the wake-up call that inspired me to leave the corporate world and focus on what truly mattered—helping others thrive.

Today, I am a Licensed Therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and an Advanced Certified Integral Coach. With 22 years of therapy and coaching experience, I specialize in guiding neurodivergent individuals—including those navigating ADHD, ASD, OCD, or PTSD—toward greater self-awareness, acceptance, and growth.

I know firsthand that understanding your unique brain wiring can feel liberating and daunting. That’s why I offer assessments and therapy designed to help clients integrate their diagnoses and live in alignment with their goals.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), one of my diagnoses, fuels my passion and attention to detail in helping clients uncover clarity through assessments. I believe an accurate diagnosis is more than a label—it’s a tool for empowerment. It helps you honor your strengths, address challenges, and fully become the person you’ve always wanted to be.

My approach is rooted in empathy, evidence-based techniques, and a belief in the power of transformation. If you're ready to take the next step in your personal and professional growth, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Main Areas of Focus

Adult Autism Spectrum Difference (ASD) & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity (ADHD) Assessments

My approach is designed to empower you. By combining comprehensive tools like the MIDAS-2 and SRS-2 for Autism and the CAARS and Brown EF/A scales for ADHD, I provide a thorough and reliable assessment process tailored to your needs. Through questionnaires, discussions, and careful observations, we’ll uncover key insights to understand your unique traits and experiences better.

Getting a diagnosis can be life-changing. It’s not just an answer—it’s a key to unlocking your potential. For neurodiverse individuals, having clarity can lead to personal and professional breakthroughs. I know this firsthand as someone who is neurodiverse. My diagnosis helped me make sense of who I am and allowed me to thrive.

But my support doesn’t stop there. Alongside the assessment, I offer you and your family understanding, resources, and guidance. I focus on a holistic view—recognizing your strengths while addressing challenges from every angle. Together, we’ll build a clearer picture of your needs and celebrate the qualities that make you, you.

And if you choose to continue therapy with me, we’ll focus on your strengths first. You’ll develop new skills to boost your self-confidence, tackle obstacles, and grow into the best version of yourself. This isn’t just a process—it’s a partnership. One that’s committed to helping you thrive in ways that lead to genuine, lasting change.

Neurodiverse Couples Therapy & Coaching

If you’re navigating the complexities of a neurodiverse relationship, you deserve a therapist who truly understands your unique challenges. I bring something rare to the table—a powerful combination of clinical expertise, evidence-based strategies, and over 40 years of lived experience in marriage.

I know what it’s like to face life’s curveballs—loss, grief, financial strains, health struggles, even time apart from a partner. These experiences, paired with my counseling psychology training, give me an edge. I don’t just sympathize; I empathize.

My approach is unique because it blends practicality with heartfelt understanding. We’ll dig into actionable strategies while fostering a space where you feel heard, respected, and valued. Your individuality matters, and I’ll help both partners honor their differences while building deeper intimacy through vulnerability and acceptance.

It’s not about fixing; it’s about flourishing. Together, we’ll break unhelpful patterns, create stronger communication, and turn your relationship into a space for growth, love, and joy.

You don’t have to do it alone. Let’s take the steps to transform your relationship today.

Adult Autism Assessment is part of New Path Family of Therapy Centers Inc.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Although we provide diagnostic assessments, we dislike the diagnostic term "Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)" and, instead, much prefer "Autism Spectrum DIFFERENCE".

When considering all the strengths and weaknesses, our clients are no more "disordered" than other people. In other words, there is no 'normal'; rather, there are different neurotypes, some more prevalent/common than others.
